Plant House (Tumblr)
107 West 28th Street, Chelsea, Manhattan
Plant House is a brand new gallery which opened on West 28th street in the middle of Manhattan’s Flower district. How you gonna get back to Jersey, their second exhibition, is their first annual printmaking show, and it runs through August 28.
The owners, Brad Ewing and Katie Michel, have created a gallery with a very inclusive, friendly, laid-back atmosphere. There is plenty to look at as the show features the work from more than 50 artists, many of the prints are by master printers showing their own work. (Full disclosure: one of my prints is included in this show).
The giant cooler which used to keep the flowers cool, has been renovated and is now a project space gallery, called The Cold Project Room. In it Plant House is presenting a beautiful show of finely rendered drawings and paintings of LA freeway overpasses called LA Freeways by Robert Olson.[sic]

In keeping with my previous videos like Cuties and essence de la vie, this new video section—part of a larger Coffee and Tea project–is part of a three segment video showing how 3 coffee milk drinks are made: their similarities, differences and the style/method of the person making the drink. I am not sure what the final title will be, maybe Milk and Coffee to separate it from any specific coffee drink or Not Coffee, Regular (2 sugars, 1 cream). I am hopefully shooting the second part (Macchiato) today.
