I’ve been taking pictures of taquerias when it occurs to me. I am posting these images in descending order based on how much I like their food.

Unfortunately not all Product of Mexico Cokes are made from sugarcane, now there is a chance it is made from corn syrup.

Albert York made some really good paintings. I liked how simple and straightforward his paintings are.

I took my first paintings in a paper grocery bag to Susanne Vielmetter out of convenience and based on a story about Mr. York doing something similar. The story I heard was he would show up with a bag of paintings and collect the payments from the previous drop off. In the New York Times obituary the story is different, but conveys the same reclusive nature that he translated into his paintings.

Since I finished the most recent batch of paintings, I’ve been drawing a lot—mostly cinderblocks, but I’ve started several drawings of the people I had pose for me in April and May.






these are gesso on canvas, 11 X 19.5 inches, the one of the tree is 19.5 X 11.

I’ve been thinking more about making models than making them. I have also been thinking about wanting to paint some warehouse lights, but I don’t know where I might find what I have in mind.
It occurred to me tonight what I needed to do (see above). This is a test. Though I imagine my improvements will be minor, there is a chance the little things I want to fix might not be as good as the present slight sag in the ceiling or imperfections of the holes and the uneven light hitting the floor—all of which I could fix in Photoshop.

Unlike apples there is very little waste in the center of an orange, but I still went ahead with this—also this particular orange wasn’t so tasty.
