Once again, the Torrance Art Museum is pleased to announce it’s 3rd annual survey of artists to watch, Baker’s Dozen III. This third iteration of the series continues the tradition of providing a snapshot of contemporary avenues of exploration seen in Los Angeles.

The title is Error because the middle pole is depicted attached to the wrong canopy—which was intentional.

Years ago I bought some water solubable oil paint, and I’m finally trying it out. The parts where I made a wash with water didn’t grab the way I was hoping. I’m sure I’ll figure it out the more I use it. This is the first layer. I’ve applied a second coat and used white as well, and established greater values. The next step is applying a layer of Burnt Umber. (photos forthcoming)
