Mark Bradford

I went to see Mark Bradford’s exhibition at SFMOMA today. I should have planned better as part of the exhibition is at Yerba Buena which is closed on Mondays. The exhibition at SFMOMA mostly focused on the Large collages/paintings for which he is best known.

Besides the collages, Niagara (2005) was on view. It is a simple and, for me, a perfect video. The camera is locked down at about waist height looking down an LA sidewalk. A male enters from behind and right of the camera and proceeds to walk down the street till nearly out of view (3:17 minutes).
