A few things i found interesting in the recent article ‘Tough Times Call for Shrewd Artists’ by Dorothy Spears from February 13, 2009 in the New York Times are…1. MOMA’s first acquisition was Edward Hopper’s “House By the Railroad” of 1925 (pictured above).
2. was that MOMA had a free admission policy, but by the third show, there was a small fee charged two days a week to control crowds due to its popularity. Today the entry fee is $20.
